CAMEROON
Cameroon, located in west central Africa, is a country afflicted by pervasive poverty and rising infant under-five mortality rates.
Almost 51 per cent of the population lives below the poverty line, affecting women in particular. An estimated 56 per cent of the population is under 20 years of age. Debt servicing consumes a significant portion of government resources and consequently impacts the provision of basic services such as health and education.
