Romanian University Program

ICA Canada began working in Romania in 1991 in direct response to the desperate conditions that existed in the orphanages. In September 2009, the last Romanian orphanage was closed, although the children have not disappeared. They are now living in apartments with older children caring for the younger ones, with the off-site supervision of government officials. ICA remains committed to empowering these forgotten children to create lives with a future.
